Bringing Bangladeshi Food to the Forefront

Korai Kitchen is a Bangladeshi restaurant owned by a mother-daughter team in Jersey City. The restaurant was born out of a mother’s love for cooking and her ambition to make her dreams a reality.

Super Spicy partnered with Korai kitchen to rebrand their visual identity. Our mission was to celebrate Bangladeshi cuisine and culture, which has often been grouped into and overshadowed by Indian culture. We wove in heartfelt Bengali phrases and scripts into the identity and messaging to speak to the culture and the family’s love of cooking. The menu also highlights Amma (mom) Nure-E Rahman, the chef who prepares the all-Bangladeshi menu.

TYPOGRAPHY

Bengali script serves as a core part of the messaging. We integrated Bengali phrases translating to "food cooked by a mother's hands" and "Bengali by fish and rice" to build on their personal story. We proudly highlight ‘No Chicken Tikka Masala’ as a statement that Korai Kitchen serves authentic Bangladeshi dishes, not the popular Indian dish many people often request.
